A Digital Court Reporter is required to be present in depositions where an attorney wants to have the deponent’s testimony captured via audio or video. Responsibilities include setting up audio/video equipment, recording depositions, understanding the digital recording system, taking notes during proceedings, and creating log notes of speaker identification and keywords. Essential Functions Set up audio/video equipment professionally in various environments. Position and monitor microphones for optimal audio capture. Mix multiple audio tracks and monitor for interference. Adjust white balance and exposure appropriately. Maintain proper video framing according to legal standards. Assist clients with technical issues both in-person and remotely. Develop knowledge of departmental policies, legal field, and A/V technology. Log key legal events, spellings, exhibits, and objections during proceedings. Swear in deponents and record their testimony accurately. Maintain professionalism and neutrality during legal proceedings. Location : Annapolis, MD Shift : 8:00am - 5:00pm Compensation : $22.00 - $24.00 per hour Benefits : Medical, Dental, Vision, Voluntary Life Insurance, Voluntary Long Term Disability, PTO, Paid Holidays, 401(k), EAP Requirements The ideal candidate has some experience or knowledge of the legal industry.
