The Daily Record (Maryland) is seeking an Editor with strong leadership skills who will manage the newsroom establishing editorial vision, community connections and serve as the face of the brand along with the leadership team.

The Daily Record has been serving Maryland's business and legal community for over 130 years and has an engaged print, digital and social media audience of subscribers and followers.

This is a hybrid role and is required to report into the Baltimore office on Tuesdays and Thursdays, remote on others day and active in the community at networking events, key meetings and at our own Daily Record events.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Becoming a leader in the Maryland legal and business communities and making connections with other community leaders to benefit The Daily Record brand.
• Developing strategic ideas to grow The Daily Record brand through strong content, recognition programs, partnerships, and more.
• Collaborating with other editorial employees and your managing director at The Daily Record and other BridgeTower Media brands to improve editorial content, processes and efficiency.
• Managing, hiring and training editorial employees for The Daily Record.
• Assisting with events and feature products, including webinars, honoree selection, content, script writing/editing, content/panelist decisions, emceeing and networking.
• Developing and managing the editorial vision for The Daily Record and ensuring the right team is in place to provide unique, timely and essential content tied to the product and audience vision.
• Working with editors, reporters and digital operations to use BTM best practices to grow online readership and engagement.
• Creating the annual editorial budget and managing the team, freelance and products to meet the expense budget.
• Collaborating with sales to ensure The Daily Record's content is appealing to advertisers while maintaining editorial integrity.

Skills + Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in English, journalism, or relevant work experience.
• 4+ years of editing experience with a proven track record leading a team to journalism excellence.
• Editor experience with a legal , business or niche product is a plus.
• Experience managing a multimedia, digital first newsroom.
• Excellence communication, multitasking and organizational skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
• Reliable home internet connection with minimum 50mbps up/10mbps down
