ROLE IMPACT
As a Pharmacy Technician - Benefits Advocate supporting the Prescription Optimization Program, you will serve as the central liaison for patients navigating prescription benefits. Your work will directly impact member access to critical medications, ensuring affordability and continuity of care by facilitating communication between patients, providers, and pharmaceutical companies.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Serve as a point of contact for members navigating prescription access and affordability
• Facilitate inbound and outbound communications with members, providers, and pharmacies
• Coordinate benefits, patient assistance, and care navigation across healthcare teams
• Accurately process and manage forms, data, and support documentation
• Ensure call resolution by balancing compliance, empathy, and efficiency
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• Active Pharmacy Technician license or national certification required
• 1+ year in patient coordination, advocacy, or healthcare support role
• Experience handling high-volume calls and documenting patient interactions
• Strong interpersonal skills with a member-first mindset
• Detail-oriented with excellent follow-through and time management
CORE TOOLS & SYSTEMS
• Microsoft Office Suite
• EMR/EHR platforms (e.g., Epic, Cerner)
• Call center or CRM systems
• Prescription benefit portals
• HIPAA-compliant data management systems
PREFERRED SKILLS
• Bilingual (Spanish/English)
• Experience with patient assistance programs
• Familiarity with insurance benefits coordination
