Job Description

Salary: $33 / Hour Pay Rate:$29 - $37/HR The1:1 School LPN/LVN identifies and treats health disorders among students in theschool setting. The 1:1 School LPN/LVN provides instruction for the student'sgeneral wellbeing and disease prevention. The School LPN/LVN monitors thestudent's physical conditions in the school setting and refers the student toappropriate resources as needed. The work of the School LPN/LVN isperformed in compliance with his/her LPN/LVN scope of practice and according tostate education codes. Essential Duties andResponsibilities: + Provides first aid care and medically prescribed services + Maintains security of school health supplies and medication in the school setting + Provides follow-up evaluations on students as required + Corresponds with parents on health needs of children + Records immunizations, health findings, and other relevant health data + Identifies abnormal growth and development, symptoms of disease and discuss with parents + Develops and maintains health records on students + Develops positive working relationships + Supports student medical needs during transport as applicable Minimum Requirements: + Current LPN/LVN license for the state in which the nurse practices + Current PPD or Chest X-Ray + One year prior professional nursing experience in school setting preferred + Pediatric experience preferred + Current BLS card + Considerable knowledge of medical disorders and treatment + Considerable knowledge of child growth and development + Some knowledge of public health problems and procedures for treatment in coordination with other health and social service agencies + Some knowledge of Federal, State, and Local laws and regulations affecting the delivery of school health services + Understands the school organization and the community served + Ability to effectively elicit/provide information to and from appropriate individuals (including, but not limited to, supervisors, co-workers, clients) via strong communication skills; proficiency in the English language is required + Computer proficiency preferred + Must be at least 18 years of age Benefits At Amergis, we firmly believe that our employees are the heartbeat of our organization and we are happy to offer the following benefits: + Competitive pay & weekly paychecks + Health, dental, vision, and life insurance + 401(k) savings plan + Awards and recognition programs *Benefit eligibility is dependent on employment status.
