Job Description

We're seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic SLP to provide vital speech and language services to students in the Yakima school district through teletherapy. What You'll Do:

Provide Remote Therapy: Deliver engaging and effective speech therapy services to students via teletherapy.
Collaborate with Teams: Work closely with other professionals to identify, evaluate, and support students with speech and language impairments.
Develop IEPs: Create and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to meet each student's unique needs.
Participate in Meetings: Attend and contribute to various meetings, including IEP meetings, staff meetings, and parent conferences.
Implement Therapy Plans: Work directly with students to achieve their IEP goals and objectives.
Utilize Assistive Technology: Evaluate, implement, and monitor augmentative communication devices.
Provide Focused Instruction: Plan and deliver clear, intentional instruction based on IEP goals and state standards.
Create a Positive Environment: Foster a safe and supportive learning environment for all students.
Communicate with Families: Collaborate with parents and the school community to support student success.
Maintain Accurate Records: Process and maintain accurate records and documents according to regulations.
Direct Support Staff: Guide and direct the work of assigned support staff.
Adhere to Policies: Comply with district policies and professional codes of conduct.
Commit to Professional Growth: Continuously strengthen your job-related competencies.
What We're Looking For:

Valid ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP).
Valid state-issued Speech-Language Pathology license in your state of residence.
Valid Washington state SLP license and Washington Educational Staff Associate Credential (or willingness to obtain).
Ability to address a wide range of speech and language deficits.
Current knowledge of assistive technology.
Knowledge of state and federal regulations.
Understanding of child development.
Strong assessment and evaluation skills.
Effective instructional strategies.
Excellent organizational and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Proficiency in technology and software programs.
Commitment to confidentiality.
Valid State driver's license or reliable transportation.
