Job Description
The Regional Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) is responsible for all topics of Information Security for the Americas region. Duties include ensuring compliance with global and local regulations, mitigating cyber risks, and fostering a strong security culture. The regional CISO can take the role of the Global CISO on duty.
Responsibilities
- Manages information security strategies for the region
- Functional leadership of Information Security in the region
- Implements strategies and technical measures that are required from the Global CISO
- Coordinates ISOs to ensure compliance with global security standards
- Oversees and manages information security strategies for the region
- Oversees the regional Compliance and Regulations in regard to Information Security
- Adaptation of Global Solutions to region‘s needs
- Monitors and assesses security risks and threats within the region
- Organizes and steers Regional Information Security Meetings/Townhalls
- Supports awareness / training measures in the region
- Participates in the Global Information Security Board (ISB)
- Interacts and meets with all the respective Information Security Officers (ISOs) in the region
- Leads project teams
- Management Duties:
- Manages directly and/or indirectly all Information Security employees of the region.
- Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of local Information Security team members.
- Manages staff and carries out management responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
- Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work, managing employee performance through appraisals and feedback; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Competencies
- Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology or related discipline and minimum 6 years of experience in Information Security, including areas of network security, risk management, and incident response; or combination of equivalent education, training, certification, and 10 years relevant experience. CISSP, CISM, and CCISO, or equivalent certification(s) is strongly preferred.
- Project Management: Develops project plans; Coordinates projects; Communicates changes and progress; Completes projects on time and budget; Manages project team activities. Proven leadership experience in information security management
- Quality: Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness; Looks for ways to improve and promote quality; Applies feedback to improve performance; Monitors own work to ensure quality.
- Computer Skills: Knowledge of Internet software; Order processing systems; Project Management software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
- Problem Solving: Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; Gathers and analyzes information skillfully; Develops alternative solutions; Works well in group problem solving situations; Uses reason even when dealing with emotional topics.
- Information Security Knowledge: Deep knowledge of current security technologies and practices; Experience with international information security frameworks such as ISO/IEC 27001, NIST Cyber Security Framework, and COBIT; Proficient in implementing and managing security infrastructure, including application, infrastructure, and data security
- Skilled in conducting risk assessments and developing risk mitigation strategies
- Familiarity with legal and regulatory requirements related to information security.
- Strong understanding of regional compliance regulations
- Strong leadership and negotiation skills to drive consensus among diverse regional teams
- Excellent communication and presentation skills to convey technical security concepts to diverse stakeholders
- Strategic thinking with a deep understanding of both technological and business aspects of information security
- Effective stakeholder management, including communication with external partners and regulatory authorities in the respective region.
- Crisis management and incident response planning skills
- Travel domestically and internationally occasionally.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a valid driver license and passport.
